The Blue Tigers will be wearing Six5Six-sponsored jerseys for the AFC Asian Cup.

Sportswear brand Six5Six will be the new, official kit sponsor of the Indian national team after the deal with Nike expired earlier this year. Six5Six, a Gurgaon-based clothing firm are also the kit sponsors of two Indian Super League clubs; Kerala Blasters and FC Pune City.

So the national team, which has qualified for the AFC Asian Cup 2019, will be wearing Six5Six sponsored jerseys for the upcoming tournament. Recently, a photo got leaked where national team midfielders Anirudh Thapa and Germanpreet Singh were posing for a selfie with the new jersey.

According to The Economic Times, Football Sports Development Ltd - the governing body of the Indian Super League - helped the AIFF bag the 5-year deal.

A source close to the developments also told The Economic Times that AIFF will launch the new Indian jersey this week. He said, "The deal is in place and the AIFF will unveil the new Indian team jersey this week."

"FIFA doesn’t allow logos on national team jerseys, globally. This is the main reason behind AIFF not being able to get lucrative deals," explained a senior marketing expert to The Economic Times.

Six5Six will not only supply the men's national team with kits, but also the women's team and other age-group sides. The official announcement and launch of the kit will take place on 19th December 2018 in New Delhi.
