Report: East Bengal to tie-up with Kaizen Sports as new kit sponsor
The Kolkata-based club will be ending their association with Perf.
East Bengal are reportedly poised to change their kit sponsor once again, replacing Italian sportswear Perf with an Indian sports line, Kaizen Sports. After ending a four-year partnership with Shiv-Naresh last season to opt for the Italian kit manufacturers, Quess have changed their kit sponsors once again for next season.
According to Khel Now sources, The Red and Gold Brigaders have already started the paperwork for the change. However, Quess is still waiting on a go-ahead from the upper-level management to get the deal done. Perf was roped in to give their kit some more glamour last season, as the introduction of Quess as their investors helped them present a more attractive jersey.
As a matter of fact, the Red and Gold Brigaders even had their away kit’s design produced by a fan! In Twitter, a contest took place where the fans’ jersey designs were analyzed and the best one was chosen to be their white, red and gold away kit. However, they’re now moving into a kit sponsor which is closer to home. Kaizen Sports were created in 1921 and are based in Jalandhar, where they produce kits for various Football Academies and other teams.
They will be branded in the kit for Alejandro Menendez’s men next season. According to Nabadin, the talks have progressed really well and if everything goes well, Kaizen Sports should be confirmed as their new kit sponsor soon enough. It’s not like the Jalandhar sports brand are completely new to Indian or Kolkata football as a whole. A few years ago, they were Mohammedan Sporting’s kit sponsors and made their kits for a while.

However, two years later, they’re back with sponsoring the Red and Gold Brigaders kit. According to the Bengali Indian Express, an official confirmation should be made in the next few days about this partnership and it should be a long-term tie-up between the two parties.
Italian company Perf impressed many with their stylish designs last season, but Quess didn’t mean them fit enough for the long-haul. The Red and Gold Brigaders are now going to represent India as a whole with a domestic kit sponsor and will get a new look to themselves. A refined design can be expected for the Red and Gold Brigaders kit next season, as they aim to finally capture the I-League title after coming so close last season.
