First of all, inquire about the weather report first thing in the morning.
Mumbai is notorious for its flooding courtesy to its infamous rain. But the city’s trusted system of public transport, although delayed some time, is always on point when it comes to helping the Mumbaikars reach their destinations.
There have been reports of continuous rainfall in and around the city and the suburbs. The Mumbai Football Arena is in the unofficial centre of the city, Andheri and is the most connected part of the city of Mumbai as it has one of the best public transport systems ever.
It is connected by both the Western and the Harbour railway lines which links it to both the mainland Mumbai stations as well as those on the harbour line and in Navi Mumbai. Adding to this we have the Mumbai Metro that runs through Andheri and connects it to Ghatkopar station and therefore uniting the Central Line to Andheri.
The Metro station of Azad Nagar is just outside the Andheri Sports Complex that houses the Mumbai Football Arena and it is one of the cheapest modes of transport if you decide to use the railway and metro route to arrive at the match.
Generally, the most dreaded part of a Sunday commute is the delay in trains and rains just seem to aggravate the delay. But there is some good news here. The Railways have announced that the latest a Mega block ends this Sunday will be at 4 pm, which is four hours before the match. This Mega block is going to be on small sections of the Western and Harbour line while the Central Line faces no such block.

On a rainy day many things can go wrong and one of them is the flooding of arterial roads that lead to the stadium. There have been a total of 15 complaints of low-level flooding in and around the city and it would be in your best interest not to travel by road in order to keep yourself and your vehicle safe.
As mentioned above the trains are a better and faster option and the maximum average delay is not expected to be above 20 minutes as per sources in the Railway. Keeping this in mind, it will be good for you to leave your house at least two hours before the game so that you can reach the game on time and not be delayed due to reasons which aren’t in your hands.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]The stadium has been sold out for the final of the InterContinental Cup and it will be in your best interest to reach the stadium well before time and avoid bringing your own vehicle to the venue. The possibility of rainfall is high and thus it would be better to carry along rainwear and umbrellas to avoid a drenching.
Hope to see you make some noise at the stadium and not groan due to a bad rainy day experience.
