The Kolkata-based side outplayed the Men of Steel for most of the game.

ATK picked up a hard-earned victory over Jamshedpur FC, beating them 2-1 at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata on Sunday. Two first half free-kicks from Manuel Lanzarote proved to be enough to snatch a win, as Mario Arques second-half strike couldn’t spark a comeback. ATK are now tied with Jamshedpur in the Indian Super League table, three points off fourth-placed NorthEast United.

Watch: ATK 2-1 Jamshedpur FC highlights

Here are the player ratings for the game:

ATK

Arindam Bhattacharya- 6.0

Arindam was mostly untested in the first half, only making one save from a weak Farukh Choudhary header. However, he couldn’t do anything about Arques’ powerful header, which robbed him of his clean sheet.

Pritam Kotal- 6.5

In his home debut for his new side, Kotal stuck a reliable figure on the right. Keeping Bikash Jairu’s crossing threat contained, he also made four tackles and four interceptions to not allow many chances to be created through his side.

Arnab Mondal- 7.0

Starting for the first time, Mondal raised his claim for a permanent position in the ATK starting XI. He formed a strong partnership with John Johnson, keeping things compact at the back. The former East Bengal defender kept Sumeet Passi neutralized. He made twelve clearances in the game, putting on a solid performance to keep things tidy.

Ricky Lallawmawma- 6.5

The reliable left-back struggled to keep up with the ever-mobile figure of Farukh Choudhary. He was dragged too far forward at times, creating a hole the in defence and allowed the winger to get behind him on multiple occasions. He improved vastly in the second half, making five tackles and four blocks while also making a few promising runs forward.

Pronay Halder- 6.5

Halder cut a strong figure in midfield, sticking close to Jamshedpur’s Spanish pivot and preventing Memo from creating chances. He played a part in earning the first free-kick, when his solid blocks allowed Edu Garcia to run through. Made five tackles and helped ATK see out the game in the second half.

Hitesh Sharma- 5.0

Hitesh was an isolated figure on the left, being unable to create anything for the hosts. He moved into the middle at times, but to no avail as his only job seemed to be running around.

Substitutions

Jayesh Rane- NA

Had a chance to get a goal through a counter-attack, but Everton Santos couldn’t pass it accurately to him.

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul- 6.0

The veteran goalkeeper couldn’t really do much for the goals, as the inch-perfect croses were beyond his reach. Did well with handling the crosses and made a few saves in the second half to keep his team in the game.

Robin Gurung- 6.0

Gurung did really well to keep Hitesh Sharma from doing anything worthwhile, nullifying his threat on the wing and forcing him to move elsewhere. He was pretty tidy on the defensive front, making five clearances and three tackles to disable ATK from attacking through his wing.

Pratik Choudhary- 6.0

Coming in for Raju Gaikwad, Pratik had a decent match in the center of defence. He kept the energetic Santos from troubling his side, but couldn’t really contain Garcia’s threat. Made five clearances to help Jamshedpur avert danger. Substituted in the second half for an attacking change.

Dhanachandra Singh- 4.0

Dhanachandra was extremely lacklustre when it came to defending ATK’s counter-attacks, as his poor decision-making didn’t help him. He made a bad foul right in Lanzarote territory early in the game, before later fouling Garcia outside the box. Unluckily for him, both resulting free-kicks went in. Subbed at half-time for his poor performance.

Farukh Choudhary- 6.0

Arguably, the best attacker for Jamshedpur on the day. He was played on the right and made things really difficult for Ricky Lallawmawma. Had one weak header saved comfortably, while later creating a good chance only to see it cleared. Showed real urgency.

Bikash Jairu- 6.0

Jairu couldn’t really do much and was bullied by Kotal. He was only allowed to get one decent cross in, but saw it being cleared away. Moved to left-back, where he did much better, making a few interceptions and clearances. Provided a solid assist when his inviting cross allowed Arques to pull one back.

Sumit Passi- 5.0

Passi was given a chance to lead the line for Jamshedpur, but was bullied by both opposition defenders. Couldn’t get into a promising position or create anything. Made a horrible foul on Pronay Halder in the first half and escaped a booking. Uneventful and disappointing.

Substitutions

Malsawmzuala- 6.0

Moved things around pretty well after coming on and distributed the ball around nicely, recording a 90% passing accuracy.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 6.0

The winger looked pretty dangerous after coming on. Had a shot rattle off the crossbar and was robbed of a goal.
