Cesar Ferrando wants Jamshedpur to press high, Eelco Schattorie praises Tiri
The Red Miners take on the Highlanders in a crunch match with an aim to build momentum.
Jamshedpur FC host NorthEast United FC on Saturday, 1st December as the visitors return to Jamshedpur in search of their first victory at the ‘Furnace’. Both the sides will be going into this match brimming with confidence after getting positive turnarounds in their respective last fixtures. The Men of Steel are undefeated at their home while North East have won all their away matches so it will be a special occasion as the two giants lock horns with each other.
The coaches of both the teams met the media before their clash for the pre-match press conference.
Coach’s Corner
Cesar Ferrando (Jamshedpur FC)
Ferrando will be hoping his side break NEUFC's away run
The coach was asked whether his opposition’s exploits away from home is something which concerns him. He said, "I believe in my team and know they have what it takes to get a good result against them tomorrow so, for now, I am relaxed and waiting in full anticipation for tomorrow’s match."
This season when Jamshedpur went to NorthEast to play against them, it was a match where majority of the game the Highlanders had the upper hand on the Red Miners. So in order to tackle that has the Jamshedpur team made any special arrangements or any special strategy to which Cesar replied, "Every match is different and we always set up according to our opponent but our basic game would not change, we will play the same way as we have and would like to keep the ball, maintain possession and cut their passing lanes and press them high on the pitch.”
Eelco Schattorie (NorthEast United)
Schattorie will be relying on his frontmen for three points
When asked if his side can continue their winning away run, the Dutch gaffer replied, "Well Jamshedpur haven’t lost at their home till now so that just shows how good they when they play here, I like the football set up here and this club breathes football."
He added, "They are a lot like us in the way they play, a well-structured organised defence and a solid midfield also in the defence they have Tiri whom I personally like a lot so tomorrow we are up for a tough fight."
In contrast from last season NorthEast as a team have improved a lot. So the Dutch manager was asked about the changes in personnel or philosophy, he made leading to the current form of the team, “Well it’s all about finding the right composition of players and then training them into a proper structure so that they can put it out on the pitch, though I don’t have the exact composition which I would have liked but still I am happy with my players and the way they are playing at the moment,” Eelco quipped.
