We cannot lack character- Kylain Mbappe on 5-1 loss to Lille
Lille became the first side to score five goals against the Parisians in a league game since the turn of the century.
Paris Saint Germain face another blow in consecutive Ligue 1 gameweeks as they were thrashed 5-1 by second-placed Lille in a Sunday-night kick-off. The defeat meant that the title celebration for PSG were delayed yet again and in quite-fashion. Lille scored four second-half goals delay their party.
All it was needed for PSG was to avoid a defeat to lift the trophy for the second time running and their fifth in six years.
"You can lose, but you must lose in a certain manner -- we cannot lack character like we did here," said Kylian Mbappe.
"Shipping three, four or five goals is not normal," he told to Canal+, admitted PSG's biggest failing on the night was a lack of personality.
"That said, losses happen, but we must play with my personality -- it is one of our biggest failings. We played like beginners here."
Thomas Tuchel, PSG's boss was unmoved by the loss and called it "normal." But it is an undenying fact that he has a depleted squad with injuries to key players like Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Angel di Maria among them.
"Of course, losing to 5-1 was normal, given the circumstances," said Tuchel. "What has not been normal has been winning most matches with so few players.
"Moussa Diaby and Thilo Kehrer could not play -- they were sick! I do not know who can play in Nantes as we will have just 13 or 14 players.
