The second day of round two brought with it many surprises for the fans.
Newly promoted MPL side continued their dream run this season as they made it two wins in two matches with a 1-0 victory over Mizoram Police FC.
A late second-half goal from David Lalchhuanawma sealed three points for EFC, as they continue to rise above all expectations.
Mizoram Police missed chances to take the lead in a first half where they were the better team. F. Lalrinpuia missed two good chances while V. Laltanpuia forced a good save from Electric Veng FC's Nunga Hnamte.
EFC were comfortable in trying to hit on the counter with Vanlalhmangaiha and LR Tluanga also coming close at the other end.
They improved in the second half as they forced Mizoram Police on the backfoot for long periods of time. Vanlalhmangaiha was at the forefront of things again with Isaac Vanlalpeka guilty of not taking advantage of an opening.
Mizoram Police FC did threaten their opponents at times in the second period but lapses in concentration in their backline was what gave Electric Veng FC their goal.
David Lalchhuanawma managed to break free for the second time in quick succession late in the game, and after he was guilty of spurning a good opportunity in the box just minutes earlier he finished a one-on-one with against MPFC's TP-a for the winner.
