Ramhlun North and Mizoram Police win in MPL Round 9

The round saw some gripping action between the teams.

Ramhlun North FC earned much needed three points against the first ever MPL champions Dinthar FC in round 9. 

A goal from Lalrinfela and an own goal by Malsawma Chhangte was enough to ensure a 2-1 victory. 

Dinthar FC had the first chance of the game when Liberian striker Jackson came up one-on-one against RNFC's goalkeeper but managed to only strike the bar. 

They did break the deadlock when Ramliana won a penalty in the 33rd minute. This time Jackson was accurate from the spot.

But the lead did not last long as Ramhlun North FC struck on the counter-attack 3 minutes later. Lalrinfela applying the finishing touches to a swift team move. 

The second half saw Ramhlun North FC gain the upper hand early on and a delivery by Muanawma from the left flank was put into his own net by Dinthar FC defender Malsawma Chhangte.

RNFC continued to create threats and came close to adding to the scoreline with Liansanga and PC Vanlalhmangaihzuala forcing saves from Dinthar FC goalkeeper Malsawmdawngzela.

Elsewhere. Mizoram Police FC continued their resurgence under new coach Lalbiaksanga Colney with a 4-2 victory against last season's finalists Bethlehem Vengthlang FC. 

A hattrick from Lalfakzuala was enough to seal three points for BVT FC's former coach Lalbiaksanga's new team. 

A vibrant start from both teams saw chances at each end but it was Mizoram Police FC who struck first in the 17th minute when F. Lalrinpuia's shot was cleared just as far as Lalfakzuala who finished it off to give his side the lead. 

Fakzuala then struck again in the 30th minute to double the Police team's lead. But Bethlehem Vengthlang FC pulled one back with their very next move through Lalnuntluanga. 

Mizoram Police would retake a two-goal lead 5 minutes after the restart with Lalfakzuala completing his hattrick. 

BVT looked to shake things up with the introduction of new signing PC Zosangliana but it was Police who scored their fourth in the 77th minute. Lalfakzuala finding the net with ease from the penalty spot. 

There was late drama though as BVT FC pulled one back after MPFC conceded a penalty in the 89th minute and Lalnuntluanga scored his second of the night.
