The left winger could see a similar fate experienced by the likes of Lucas Piazon and Charly Musonda.

Over the years, Chelsea have developed a trend of losing talented youngsters due to the heavy pockets of their owner Roman Abramovich. The Russian-Israeli billionaire businessman was the first person to change our transfer market, with positive and negative effects.

Over the years, we have seen the likes of Lucas Piazon, Charly Musonda, Josh McEachran, Patrick Bamford, Gael Kakuta, Nathan Ake and Marco van Ginkel lose their way due to the continuous arrivals of already-established stars.

Now, the London-based outfit have another player in their ranks who is currently stuck in similar crossroads. Callum Hudson-Odoi already established himself as a talented youngster during The Blues' pre-season fixtures, giving the likes of Hector Bellerin a run for their money. While many expected the 18-year-old to be a regular fixture in Maurizio Sarri's plans, but the drama revolving around Eden Hazard has partially put a stop-gap to his development.

The young winger is still a raw player, and has a lot of things to work upon

Hudson-Odoi's talent is undoubtfully high, but there is a chance that he could either be English football's next Jadon Sancho or become another victim due to the cynical transfer market.

Although, the Cobham product has hardly registered enough top-tier minutes this season, he was still a part of Gareth Southgate's plans in the recent UEFA Euro qualifying fixtures of The Three Lions. Southgate's decision can partly also be seen as a move by the English gaffer to show to Sarri that the Ghanaian Englisman is ready for first-team football.

The 18-year-old set up a good goal for club teammate Barkley in England's win over Montenegro

A left winger by trade, the pacy attacker can play as a right-sided winger, with trickery, pace, acceleration, short bursts, and a strong right foot in his locker.

Having shown his talent at the big stage, now the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner needs to think about his future. He can't make a similar mistake like Tammy Abraham (another Chelsea product). The striker is currently on loan with Aston Villa, but was expected to be a regular for Chelsea by now. Hudson-Odoi needs to look at other Premier League stars like Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, or even Mohamed Salah.

Gone are the days when the talented Englishmen like Frank Lampard or John Terry were given ample opportunities to prove their mettle for the club, now its only money which speaks for most of the European heavyweights.

The winger shone for England in their recent international fixtures

If Chelsea really want Hudson-Odoi, they should have pinned him to their matchday squads on a more regular basis, and to not have fallen prey to Eden Hazard's magic. It is true that Hazard is the only player right now who makes Chelsea tick. N'Golo Kante's change in position has reduced his influence, Jorginho has become the most overrated midfielder in the Premier League, Willian has come in flashes, Pedro has become more rusty. The likes of David Luiz, Marcus Alonso, Kepa Arrizabalaga have failed to impress.

As a 14-year-old, Hudson-Odoi was already creating waves in English football

Even talented players like Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have their development happening slowly in this behemoth of a club.

With the Hazard drama not yet over, the 18-year-old should look for other clubs, with the likes Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United looking for his signature. Bundesliga seems like a matured option for the winger, with Bayern in a rebuilding mood (Serge Gnabry has developed a lot this season), and Dortmund is already known as a club for talented youngsters; look at Sancho, he has taken the German top-tier by storm, and it won't be a surprise to see him start for his country in UEFA Euro 2020.

So instead of following the money trail which Chelsea can offer, the talented attacker should leave the club and continue his development in another club where his talent is valued with regular first-team opportunities.
