He is in a really good moment, of course- Jurgen Klopp on Sadio Mane
The Senegalese forward has scored five goals in the last three games.
With Mohamed Salah failing to net a goal in seven games, Sadio Mané has emerged as the new focal point in the Liverpool attack having found the back of the net 11 times in 11 matches. And his manager opines that there has been no significant shift on a tactical level behind that feat.
Jurgen Klopp believes that hardly anything has changed for Mane or in his contributions or positions on the pitch that has inspired such a prolific scoring streak. Sadio Mane is now level with Salah as the Reds’ best goalscorer at 20 goals.
Klopp believes that it is Mane’s tremendous work ethic and commitment to his side and to his game that is behind the winger’s scintillating form and that the same will happen with Salah too.
“He is in a really good moment, of course,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com
“Sadio played pretty much always like this but now he is always in the right spot in the right moment. In football it’s sometimes like this.
“The only thing he did when he was not always in the right spot was work and work and work. That’s exactly what Mo has to do, exactly the same: just work, do the right things and it will come again.
“He’s just rather unlucky, where Sadio is lucky in the moment – he is in brilliant shape, that’s true."
“But then, he is in the right shape and maybe a yard away from him is Mo, but somebody else scored; the cross from Robbo [at Fulham], I’m pretty sure Mo would have scored if Gini doesn’t get the ball. These moments… I was a striker, I had that as well, you think, ‘Oh’ and then somebody else missed the chance. That’s how it is, all good.
“But, of course, it’s a brilliant moment for him [Mane].”

Sadio’s Liverpool teammate Andrew Robertson was also quick to praise the Senegalese star and his wonderful form in front of goal for the Reds. Having scored twice against Bayern at the Allianz Arena to help his side progress to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and netted again against Fulham in an important 2-1 away victory.
“He could have had a few more actually, but the goal he scored against Fulham just shows you how confident he is just now,” Robertson said.
