Ander Herrera always gave his all, no matter the length of his contract- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
The Spanish midfielder had earlier claimed that he and the club are not "thinking alike".
Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that talks over contract extension regarding Ander Herrera's future is ongoing on with the club.
The former Athletic Bilbao man is in the final year of his five years long contract with the Red Devils and from 1st January the midfielder is free to negotiate with other clubs.
The Norwegian also revealed that he does not share the opinion with the matter as he said that he and the club are not "thinking alike" on the contract extension. With rumours surrounding that the Spaniard has already agreed on terms to join Paris Saint Germain next season, United must speed up their process if they have any intention to hold their experienced midfielder.
However, amidst all the cloud regarding Herrera's future at Old Trafford, Solskjaer has no second thought about his commitment to the club and will be in action for the Red Devils once he recovers from injury.
Solskjaer spoke about Herrera to Sky Sports as he said, "He has been working really hard to get fit from his injury, which he sustained against Liverpool."
"Then he came back and he got a different injury in training. He has been really putting a lot of work in."
"Unfortunately that has come at a time when there are contract talks but that is ongoing so I cannot really comment too much on how far they have come down the line and what he is deciding."
Solskjaer handled the question of Herrera's future at Old Trafford as he opined: "You have to ask him. I don't know how the last few talks have been.
"We have let him focus on his fitness as well because he loves to play and he is not very happy when he cannot help his team-mates."
"He has always given his all. It does not matter if he has got five years left of his contract or five weeks."
