East Bengal Technical Director Subhash Bhowmik defends striker Dudu
The veteran man manager also revealed he 'loved' the Nigerian's attitude.
East Bengal technical director Subhash Bhowmick has backed Dudu Omegbemi for his inappropriate attitude following the Nigerian's substitution at the fag end of their quarterfinal match against Aizawl FC which they won 1-0 at the Kalinga Stadium on Sunday.
The incident happened when EB coach Khalid Jamil substituted Dudu with Ansumana Kromah in the 85th minute of the game. Dudu seemed totally frustrated with this decision and while coming out of the field the forward tried to tear off the jersey before goalkeeping coach and other support staffs prevented him. Such was his frustration that he even punched the dugout wall in rage.
When asked about Dudu's attitude, Bhowmick said, "When a player is in action and been taken off, it's obvious that the player will react. Same with the case of Dudu. I believe he has done it emotionally and I loved his attitude."

"We created so many chances, didn't commit missed passes and dominated the match entirely," Bhowmick added. He also said that it is just an off day for the Nigerian when nothing worked out and hopes that East Bengal will score more goals in the semifinals.
However, the red and golds may have won the match, thanks to the late penalty strike for ex-Aizawl midfielder Laldanmawia Rate but they need to sort out these goal missing problems as soon as possible if they want to win the title. East Bengal missed around as many as five to six scoring opportunities and Dudu was the culprit for most of them.
