The Brazilian forward scored a hat-trick to take Lilywhites to the continental showpiece.

The UEFA Champions League final is just a couple of days away and the players of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are prepped up for an all-English showpiece. The road to Madrid for the finale has not been easy for either of the clubs. Especially for Tottenham Hotspur who are making their maiden appearance in the UCL final.

They beat Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 with not much difficulty and Manchester City in the quarter-finals. Although, both the legs against the Premier League champions were electrifying, as the Lilywhites proceeded on away goals.

In the semi-final second leg, they were behind by three goals at half-time. Meaning they would have to score at least three in the remaining 45 minutes and that is when Lucas Moura stood up.

He scored two goals in quick succession in the first 15 minutes of the second half and then completed his hattrick on 90+6 minutes.

"I believed and had a lot of hope that we would win that match, that we would go through to the final, but I didn't imagine even in my wildest dreams that I would score three goals. It was really perfect. I wanted to celebrate with my friends and afterwards I wanted to keep the ball," he told to UEFA.com.

He continued, "Without doubt it's a very special football, something I will take great care of. It's the most important match ball of my career."

Moura joined Tottenham in January 2018 and this season, he has been playing as a secondary striker.

"I have always dreamt of playing in and winning the Champions League. Playing in a semi-final for the first time and scoring three goals the way I did, was a very special and emotional moment. All of this is a dream and now I have the opportunity to play in the final and to win the competition I have always dreamt about."

Spurs' domestic season was a rollercoaster ride of its own. But, they ended their campaign in the fourth position, behind Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

"We got here thanks to a lot of hard work and we're deservedly playing in this final. Without doubt it's the best moment of my career. It's a fantastic feeling to get into the final of the toughest club competition in the world. It is the realisation of a dream and now I want to be the champion."
