India's No. 2 Lakshya Sen will be competing in the team events.

The Badminton competition will commence on 28 October 2023 and will be held at Binjiang Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China. India will look to end its gold medal drought at the Asian Games 2023. All eyes will be on the men's team - Thomas Cup champions and Asian champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty to win a gold medal.

HS Prannoy and PV Sindhu, India's men's and women's singles No. 1s will be looking to clinch their gold medals at the quadrennial extravaganza. However, Lakshya Sen, Commonwealth Games gold medalist, is not part of the singles contingent. Despite being India's No. 2, he finished behind Kidamabi Srikanth in the trials and thus failed to qualify for the individual event.

The Indian badminton contingent has won a total of 10 medals (1 silver and nine bronze medals). Leroy D'Sa is the only Indian badminton player to win a record four medals at the Asiad.

At the previous edition, India won two medals (silver and bronze each). Both the medals came in the women's singles category. Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu won the silver medal after losing to her nemesis Tai Tzu Ying, while Saina Nehwal won the bronze medal.
