This is India's fifth medal in rowing.

India has achieved remarkable success in rowing, securing multiple medals in recent competitions, including Asian Games 2023. Following a commendable performance that resulted in a bronze medal in Men's four event, India’s rowing team has added one more medal to its tally at the Asian Games 2023.

Meanwhile, China claimed the gold medal clocking 6:02.65 with Uzbekistan securing the silver medal clocking 6:04.64s.

Satnam Singh, a remarkable Indian rower, hails from the Mansa district in Punjab. Born into a humble family of farmers, he discovered his passion for rowing while serving in the Indian Navy. Despite having no prior knowledge of the sport, Satnam Singh was introduced to it by none other than Sawarn Singh. He played handball until Indian rower Sawarn Singh visited his school in 2017. Singh encouraged him to begin rowing due to his height. He started taking rowing seriously in 2018

The Indian had also represented the country at the Youth Olympics 2018, where he finished a creditable eighth with his partner Ashish Goliyan in the boys coxless pair event. So, India finished its rowing campaign with five medals, comprising two silver and three bronze medals on the final day of the event at the Asian Games.
