Sift Samra also rewrote the national record in qualification at Asian Games 2023.

India have started Asian Games 2023 Day 4 by winning silver in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions team event. Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik, and Sift Kaur Samara combined to finish second with 1764 points only behind hosts China, who took gold (1773). The event comprises three positions, Kneeling, Prone, and Standing which the shooters fire for two rounds each.

India started off with the Kneeling position with Sift Samara scoring 197/200. Chouksey and Manini were a bit off target as they ended up with 195 and 190 respectively. It was in the Prone position where India made brilliant progress, with Samara shooting a perfect 200/200. Chouksey, who has already won a silver in Asian Games 2023, showed her mettle by shooting a 100 and a 99 in her two shots.

Manini also had a perfect 100 while scoring 98 in the other round of the Prone position. India were right back challenging the Chinese as they entered the final round which would be from a standing position. Samara was up to the task as she scored a 98 and a 99 to finish on joint top with China's Siyu Xia.

The tally of 594 points helped Sift Samara break the national record as well. She will be second with fewer inner 10s going into the individual finals at Asian Games 2023.

With 196 points in the standing position, Chouksey not only strengthened India's medal chances in the Team round but also ensured her qualification for the individual finals. Manini Kaushik put her disappointing start aside to finish strongly with a 95 and a 97 to ensure a silver for India. The Republic of Korea bagged the bronze with a total of 1756 points.
