With 107 medals, India recorded their most successful campaign.

India's remarkable and record-breaking campaign at the Asian Games 2023 concluded with an unprecedented total of 107 medals, surpassing their previous best by an impressive 37 medals. The haul included 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals.

In athletics, India shone with 29 medals, including a historic 1-2 finish in javelin by Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Kumar Jena, double podiums by Parul Chaudhary and Avinash Sable, Tajinderpal Singh Toor's shot put gold, and the success of the 4x400m relay teams and Tejaswin Shankar's record-breaking decathlon silver.

Indian shooters had an outstanding performance, securing 22 medals, including seven golds, and breaking world records. Sift Kaur Samra and the men's 10m air rifle team, led by Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, were among the standout performers

Both Indian cricket and kabaddi teams clinched gold medals, marking successful debuts for the cricket teams and a return to glory for the kabaddi teams. India achieved gold in men's hockey, securing a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The women's hockey team claimed bronze.

Badminton history was made as Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won India's maiden continental title. The men's team secured silver, and HS Prannoy won bronze despite an injury. In squash, Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu clinched the first-ever mixed doubles gold in Asian Games history, while Saurav Ghosal added a silver medal to his Asian Games tally. Compound archers swept titles, and equestrian gold was secured after 41 years.

Lovlina Borgohain won silver and a Paris 2024 Olympic quota on her Asian Games debut. India also secured boxing quotas through Nikhat Zareen, Preeti Pawar, and Parveen Hooda. Aditi Ashok became the first Indian women's golfer to claim an Asian Games medal, winning silver.

Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee secured bronze in table tennis. The Indian women's regu earned their first-ever medal, a bronze. Indian chess teams took home silver medals.

India's diverse medal count included achievements in rowing, sailing, wushu, roller skating, canoe, and bridge, highlighting the nation's exceptional performance at the Asian Games 2023.
