Which state won most medals for India at Asian Games 2023?

Haryana contributed the highest number of medals.
India has proudly dispatched a record-breaking team of 655 athletes to the Asian Games 2023. This notable achievement marks the largest contingent ever sent by India to this prestigious sporting event.
The increase in the number of athletes was anticipated to have a positive impact on the overall medal count, surpassing that of previous editions. In a pleasantly unexpected turn of events, the accomplished athletes from India have not only surpassed their previous record of 70 medals in a single edition but have also achieved a remarkable milestone of exceeding 100 medals at the Asian Games 2023.
Indian contingent achieved an impressive feat by securing a total of 107 medals at the event, including 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze medals. The number of athletes who received medals amounted to 249. Despite certain athletes not being able to achieve a podium finish, it is important to acknowledge the outstanding contribution made by athletes from all states in this remarkable endeavor.
As per statistics, athletes hailing from 19 different states as well as Delhi (Union Territory) have accomplished the feat of winning medals for the country. The state of Haryana emerged with the highest number of medalists, standing at 44, followed by Punjab with a commendable tally of 32, and Maharashtra with a total of 31 medalists who achieved a podium at the prestigious event.
