Asian Para Games 2023: India’s Rudransh Khandelwal, Manish Narwal win silver, bronze in men’s 10m AP SH1 event

India’s Rudransh Khandhelwal and Manish Narwal won silver and bronze medals respectively in men’s 10m AP SH1 at Asian Para Games 2023. This is Rudransh’s second medal at the ongoing Asian Para Games with Tokyo Paralympic medalist Manish securing his maiden medal at the Continental Games.

In the qualification stages, three Indians finished inside top 8 and all of them secured entry into the final. Akash apart from Rudransh and Manish was the other entrant. However, in the final, Akash couldn’t carry forward his prime form and was the first shooter to be eliminated with a score 112.3. Earlier he finished 6th in the qualification stages.
Manish Narwal finished second with a qualification score of 573-18x and Rudransh finished fifth by registering 567-12x. A total of 21 shooting across several countries participated in the event. In the final, Rudransh finished behind Huang Xing from China who scored 238.6 and in the process created a new Games record.
Rudransh finished his proceedings with 238.3 while Manish scored 217.3 and settled for the third spot. The former yesterday won silver in mixed 50m Rifle SH1 event. Apart from these he recorded a world record score in the P4 Mixed 50m pistol SH1 category at the World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) World Cup. The teenager shot 231.1 in the final to finish on the top.
Furthermore, the 16-year-old broke the world record held by his countrymate Manish Narwal. On the other hand, Manish won gold medal at the recently concluded World Para Shooting Championship.
