Asian Games: BCCI to arrange Japan visa for THESE 3 players on VVS Laxman's request - Reports

India will begin their Asian Games 2026 stint on September 28.
The Asian Games 2026 is set to be an important tournament for India as the Men in Blue prepare to defend their gold medal. The tournament will be held in Japan, with the India entering the competition at the quarterfinal stage. India will be looking to start their campaign strongly and once again bring home the gold medal.
India have already been announced for the Asian Games 2026, with Shreyas Iyer named as the captain. The squad has a mix of experienced players and young guns who will be looking to make an impact. Players such as Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kisan, Tilak Varma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are part of the 15-member squad.
India’s campaign will begin on September 28 as the team has received direct entry into the quarterfinal stage. VVS Laxman will take charge of the India men’s team for the Asian Games. Regular head coach Gautam Gambhir is expected to remain with the senior India team for the home series against West Indies. Laxman was also part of India’s gold medal-winning campaign at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
VVS Laxman requests three pacers as net bowlers for India

According to a report from PTI, VVS Laxman has asked the BCCI to provide additional bowling support for the Indian batters during the Asian Games. As a result, Lucknow Super Giants pacers Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan, along with Kolkata Knight Riders pacer Kartik Tyagi, are expected to travel to Japan as net bowlers.
The BCCI is trying to arrange Japanese visas for these three. The trio; however, will there in Japan til India play their first game. The source close to developments stated:
“They are not part of official Indian contingent and will only be there till the Indian men play their first game on September 28, provided the BCCI can arrange for their Japanese visa on time before the team departs from Delhi on September 20,”
Mayank Yadav is the best name among the three players. The LSG fast bowler has got lots of attention because of his pace; however, he was recently dropped from India’s T20I squad but had a good outing during the Zimbabwe tour. Mayank has played six T20Is for India and has taken nine wickets at an average of 17.22.
Kartik Tyagi returned to the IPL 2026 with KKR and had a strong season. He played all 14 league matches and picked up 18 wickets at an average of 27.66. He is still waiting for his first T20I call-up.
Mohsin Khan, meanwhile, will bring a left-arm pace option to the practice session. The LSG pacer played seven matches in IPL 2026 and picked 11 wickets at an average of 20.72. He also registered a five-wicket haul against KKR.
