Asian Winter Games 2025: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch?

Asian Winter Games 2025 will be held from February 8 to 14.

The Asian Winter Games (AWG) is an international multi-sport event held every four years for members of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) featuring winter events. The Japanese Olympic Committee first suggested creating a winter version of the Asian Games in 1982.

Their efforts were rewarded when they received hosting rights for the first edition, held in Sapporo in 1986, as the city had the infrastructure and expertise gained from hosting of the 1972 Winter Olympics.

The ninth edition of the Asian Winter Games is set to take place at Harbin in People’s Republic of China. The competition returns to the incredible city of Harbin, after almost three decades. The competition boasts a record participation of 34 participating countries/regions and 1,275 athletes – 775 men, 520 women.

The Asian Winter Games 2025 officially commence on Friday (7 February) at the Harbin International Convention Exhibition and Sports Centre, where the Closing Ceremony will also be held on 14 February. The ice hockey will get the ball rolling on Monday ahead of the Opening Ceremony, followed by curling on Tuesday.

Bhutan, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia will make their debut at the Games with Afghanistan and Bahrain rejoining after missing out in 2017. Seven venues will host 64 events across 11 disciplines. New to the competition program is ski mountaineering, which replaces ski jumping from the previous Games in Sapporo-Obihiro, Japan.
