During the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, the number of participating nations in the event increased. Pakistan successfully defended their gold medal in the women’s cricket event; this time, Bismah Maroof replaced Sana Mir as the side’s captain.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh collected their second silver medal, and Sri Lanka pocketed their first bronze. Cricket was not part of the continental competition during the 2018 edition; however, it returned in the post-COVID era at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.
