India bag bronze in women's skeet team shooting at Asian Games 2026
The Indian trio scored a combined 331 points.
On Wednesday, the Indian trio of Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal secured another medal for India at the Asian Games 2026, finishing third in the women’s skeet team shooting event with a combined score of 331.
The result marks India’s sixth shooting medal of the Games overall, and the first medal in skeet shooting at this edition. China topped the podium with 357 score, while Kazakhstan settled for silver with 336.
The competition spanned a 3-day qualification round, and the Indian team’s journey through these rounds tells its own story. India stood at 67 after the first round, moved to 132 after the second, reached 196 by the third, climbed to 266 after the fourth, and closed out with 331 in the fifth and final round.
How did the race for the podium unfold?

At the start of the day, India sat in third place with a score of 266, trailing China’s 287 and Kazakhstan’s 274. That gap, 21 points behind the leaders and 8 points behind the second-placed team, left little margin for error heading into the final round. The Indian trio held their nerve to close out the event in third position and secure the bronze.
Individually, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Raiza Dhillon also punched their tickets to the women’s skeet individual final, finishing joint eighth with identical scores of 111. Parinaaz’s round-by-round tally read 23, 44, 65, 89 and 111, while Raiza’s progression went 25, 46, 68, 92 and 111.
However, Maheshwari Chauhan could not carry her team form into the individual event. She finished 12th with a score of 109, having shot 19, 42, 63, 85 and 109 across the five rounds.
With this bronze medal, India’s total medal count in shooting at the Aichi-Nagoya Games has now reached six, comprising four silver and two bronze medals.
The other five medals came from the rifle events, where Himanshu Dhillon and Elavenil Valarivan won silver in the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle events, respectively; India claimed two more silvers in the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle team events, and Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil added a bronze in the men’s 10m air rifle.
