Asian Games 2026: India bag silver in men's 10m air rifle team event; Rudrankksh & Himanshu qualify for individual final
This was India’s third medal at the Asian Games 2026.
India won their third medal at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, September 21, as Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane took silver in the men’s 10m air rifle team event.
The trio totalled 1890.1 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery. Meanwhile, China won gold with 1899.0, thanks to Sheng Lihao, Ma Sihan and Zhang Changhong. That total is a Qualification World Record, 0.6 better than the mark China set in 2025. India finished 8.9 points behind them.
South Korea took bronze with 1884.2, leaving India 5.9 points clear of third place. Indonesia (1882.5), Iran (1880.7), Japan (1880.1), Kazakhstan (1871.4) and Vietnam (1870.9) completed the standings.
The team score is the sum of each shooter’s individual qualification total. Rudrankksh led India with 631.8, Dhillon scored 630.0 to sit seventh, and Mane finished on 628.3, bringing their total score to 1890.1.
Rudrankksh’s best series was a 106.0, while Dhillon peaked at 106.3 in his fourth. Mane saved his best for last, a 106.7 in his sixth series, the highest single series by any Indian. All three of India’s medals at these Games have come from shooting.

Two Indians in the individual final

Rudrankksh and Dhillon both qualified for the eight-shooter individual final, which will take place at 9:00 AM IST on Monday. Mane’s 628.3 was not enough, so he is out of that race. He missed last place by 0.9 points.
Sheng Lihao topped qualifying with 635.4, an Asian Games qualification record, and Ma Sihan was second on 633.0. South Korea’s Park Hajun was fourth with 631.4, and Indonesia’s Kanurian Al Ghozi was sixth with 630.2. Rudrankksh trails Sheng by 3.6 points and Dhillon by 5.4.
Zhang Changhong finished fifth with a score of 630.6 but missed out on the final due to the two-shooter-per-country qualification rule. That opened a place for South Korea’s Shin Minki, who qualified on 629.2 despite ranking ninth. Mongolia’s Bayaraa Nyantai (629.5) also made it.
The final field is Sheng, Ma, Rudrankksh, Park, Kanurian, Dhillon, Bayaraa and Shin.
