Indian men’s volleyball team won their second Pool C match at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday, defeating Hong Kong 25-22, 25-19, 25-21 at Park Arena Komaki in Aichi-Nagoya.
The opening set was the closest of the match. Hong Kong kept the pressure on, but India held their nerve at the crucial moments and took it by three points to lead 1-0.
The second set was more comfortable. Initially, India led 13-10, held the advantage and closed it out 25-19, a six-point margin. Hong Kong then needed to win the third set to stay alive, but India took it 25-21 to finish the job in straight sets.
Over the three sets, India scored 75 points to Hong Kong’s 62, a margin of 13. The winning margins by set were three, six and four points. The win follows India’s opening result on Sunday against Vietnam, also a 3-0 scoreline.
India will next face Qatar in Pool C finale

India took those sets 25-23, 25-21 and 25-20 in one hour and 24 minutes at Park Arena Komaki. Across the two matches, India have won all six sets and scored 150 points to their opponents’ 126. India will play Qatar on Tuesday in their final pool match.
The men’s tournament has 16 teams split into four groups of four. The top two from each pool after the round-robin stage go through to the quarter-finals, and classification matches decide the final ranks. The volleyball competition runs from September 27 to October 3.
The Volleyball Federation of India picked a 12-member squad for the 20th Asian Games. Setter Muthusamy Appavu is the senior figure in the group, with Jerome Vinith Charles and Muhammad Nihal Chatham Kulangara among the other notable names.
The rest of the squad is Chirag, Amit, John Joseph Eanthungal Joseph, Joel Benjamin Jebaraj, Anand Kottarathil, Om Vasant Lad, Ashwal Rai, Shikhar Singh and Erin Varghese.
