Manu Bhaker will headline India’s shooting contingent
Two-time Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker will headline India’s 30-member shooting contingent at the Asian Games 2026, to be held in Aichi-Nagoya from September 19 to October 4.
Indian shooters enjoyed an outstanding campaign at the Hangzhou 2022 Games, returning with seven gold, nine silver and six bronze medals. There will be high hopes that the squad can replicate that impressive performance in Aichi-Nagoya.
Bhaker, 24, will be among India’s leading medal contenders. The pistol shooter made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning two bronze medals — one in the women’s 10m air pistol individual event and another in the mixed team competition.
Bhaker will compete in four events in the 20th Asian Games: the individual and team events in women’s 10m air pistol and 25m pistol.
