India were among the 45 nations that took part in the Asian Games 2022, which took place in Hangzhou, China, from September 23 to October 8, 2023.

India finished fourth in the overall medal tally with 106 medals, including 28 golds, 38 silvers, and 40 bronzes. Only China (383 medals), Japan (188 medals), and South Korea (190 medals) finished above India.
The Indian archery team was extremely successful. In compound, Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Surekha won three gold medals each in individual, team, and mixed events. The men’s and women’s compound teams also clinched golds. Meanwhile, the men’s and women’s recurve teams won silver and bronze, respectively.
Shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar was part of the men’s 10m air rifle and 50m rifle three-position teams that clinched gold medals. Tomar also won silver in the 50m rifle three-position event and bronze in the 10m air rifle event. Esha Singh won one gold and three silver medals in shooting.
