The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist will take the field for the first time in the season.

Tokyo Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra is set to take part in the prestigious Doha Diamond League on 05 May 2023. The Doha League will be the first competition for Neeraj Chopra in 2023 and the likes of Olympic silver medallist Vadlejch, European champion Julian Weber, former Olympic champion and Trinidad & Tobago national record holder Keshorn Walcott, world champion Anderson Peters, and 2016 Olympic silver medallist Julius Yego are set to take part.

The Indian national record holder and defending diamond league champion did not participate in the previous edition at Doha due to scheduling reasons. Neeraj Chopra in a press release on Wanda Diamond League's Website said, “While last year was a good year for me with a new personal best, world silver medal, and the win of the Wanda Diamond League, this year brings new opportunities. My goal for this summer is the World Championships, alongside the Asian Games and the defence of my Wanda Diamond League title. I’m also getting closer to the 90m mark, so it would mean a lot for me to break that barrier.”
