Kishore Kumar Jena made the entry into the competition at the 36th spot after clinching gold in Sri Lanka National Athletics Championships 2023.

The most prestigious tournament after the Olympics, the World Athletics Championships 2023 kicked off in Budapest, Hungary at the National Athletics Centre on August 19th and will end on 27th August 2023. The first edition of the World Athletics championships was held in 1983 and since then it has been held biennially.
