Indians participating at World Athletics Championships 2023

India is sending 27-member squad for the World Athletics Championships 2023. Olympic Champion Neeraj Chopra, 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Avinash Sable and Murali Sreeshankar are the best hope for India to win a medal. Some notable names who will look to breach the direct Olympic qualification mark are Jyothi Yarraji, Shaili Singh and the triple jumper trio of Eldhose Paul, Abdulla Aboobacker and Praveen Chithravel.

National record holder Jyothi Yarraji who has broken the national record several times in the past year will be one of the athletes to look out for. She recently rewrote her personal best and national record again at the World University Games with a timing of 12.78 seconds and narrowly missed the Olympic qualification mark by 0.01 seconds.

Youngster Shaili Singh, who has been training under former World medalist Anju Boby George, has a personal best of 6.76m.
