The Brussels Diamond League 2023 is scheduled to take place from 07-08 September 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. This competition will be the final Diamond League meet this season ahead of the finals in Eugene. Majority of the action will take place at the King Baudouin Stadium with the top athletes in track and field events competing to qualify for the Diamond League Finals in Eugene, Oregon, a week later.
The women's Shot Put and other contests involving local athletes will kick off the two-day event on Thursday (September 7th) at the Place de la Monnaie.
The Brussels Diamond League 2023 Athletics competition will include Indian javelin thrower Annu Rani. This will be her maiden appearance in the competition this season. The 31-year-old Indian javelin thrower had competed in just one event before, the Lausanne leg of the 2019 Diamond League where she finished on the seventh spot.
Annu Rani is currently ranked 43rd in the world and owns the women's javelin throw national record with a distance of 63.82m. In this event, Annu Rani will encounter a tough competition as she contends against elite athletes like Victoria Hudson of Austria and current world champion Haruka Kitaguchi of Japan. In her most recent competition, Rani was placed seventh with a throw of 52.54m at an international meet in Thum, Germany, earlier this month.
