Indian athletics dominated Day 10 with a deluge of medals at Asian Games 2023.

Day 10 of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou saw a deluge of medals for Indian athletics, featuring several remarkable performances. Notably, India's Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath clinched a silver medal in the men's 800m event, showcasing his exceptional skills with an impressive timing of 1:48.43.

It was a day of mixed fortunes for the Indian contingent in the 800m race. Krishan Kumar, who had previously impressed everyone by qualifying for the finals with a personal and season-best timing of 1:45.88, faced stiff competition in the final race.

Despite his earlier achievements, Kumar could only manage to finish fifth with a time of 1:48.50. While he narrowly missed out on a medal, his qualification and valiant effort in the finals deserve recognition.

Praveen Chithravel, a rising star in the world of triple jump, secured a well-deserved bronze medal in the men's triple jump event. With a leap of 16.68m, Chithravel earned a place on the podium. However, with a national record and previous top-class performances under his belt, the gold was expected.

On the other hand, to conclude the men’s track events on Day 10, India's Yashas Palaksha and T Santosh Kumar secured the fifth and sixth positions respectively, in the men's 400m hurdles final. Palaksha recorded a time of 49.39 seconds, while Tamilarasan closely followed with a time of 49.41 seconds.
