Jeswin Aldrin managed just one legal jump.

India’s Jeswin Aldrin finished a disappointing 13th in men’s long jump at the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 on March 2 (Saturday). Aldrin, who managed just one proper jump finished with a best effort of 7.69m and was eliminated after the first phase.

National record holder in men’s long jump, Aldrin also held the world lead for some months in 2023 after achieving a career best 8.42m jump. At Glasgow on Saturday, he didn’t get off to a strong start and only managed to register a distance of 7.69m in his first jump but was ranked among the top eight athletes.

Despite fouling in the second jump, Jeswin remained in the 11th position out of 16 athletes. However, he eventually finished 13th after fouling his third attempt also.

He required a jump of at least 7.75m on his final attempt to secure a spot among the top eight athletes and earn three more attempts.

Jeswin Aldrin’s performance at the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 was underwhelming with only one valid jump out of three attempts, measuring a mere 7.69m and finishing in 13th place overall.
