The competition will take place in Glasgow, Scotland from March 1-3.

The upcoming World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024 is slated to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, running from March 1st through March 3rd.

Jeswin Aldrin and Praveen Chithravel are the sole representatives from India participating in the World Athletics Indoor Championships 2024. They aim to kick off the Olympic year with a strong start, striving to make a significant impact at the beginning of the season and earn valuable ranking points.

Despite their impressive performances at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024 last month, top Indian players such as Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Jyothi Yarraji have opted to forgo the event. Additionally, Long Jumper Murali Sreeshankar has also withdrawn from participation.

National Record holder in men’s long jump, Jeswin will compete alongside elite athletes such as Miltiadis Tentoglou, Thobias Montler and Tajay Gayle. With a strong performance, he stands a good chance of clinching a medal.

Jeswin has been diligently preparing by participating in three indoor meets leading up to the event, with a season-best jump of 7.83m.

Praveen Chithravel, boasting a national record of 17.37m, is poised to compete in his inaugural international event since his impressive performance at last year’s Asian Games. He will face formidable competition, including from reigning champion Lázaro Martínez of Cuba.
