India lead the overall medal tally with 32 medals while Sri Lanka are at second with 23.

India continued their strong run at the South Asian Athletics Championships 2025 with 18 medals, including seven gold, on day 2 of the event. The medal rush took India’s total count to 32 medals in the overall tally. The host nation lead the tally, with Sri Lanka far at second place with 23 medals.

The women’s 100m hurdles witnessed India’s Nandhini K clocking 13.56s to win the gold medal. Meanwhile, India’s Manav R clinched gold in the men’s 110m hurdles, topping the podium with a timing of 13.78s.

In the men’s 1500m final, India’s Arjun Waskale clinched gold with a timing of 3:54.58s, while the Sri Lankan duo of Gallage Rusiru Chath and Rojideen Mohamathu took the subsequent positions.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s men’s team grabbed gold and also set a meet record in the men’s 4x100m relay event with a timing of 39.99s to win gold. India (40.65s) and Bangladesh (40.94s) finished second and third, respectively.

The Sri Lanka women’s 4x100m relay team also emerged as winners with a timing of 44.70s. They raced ahead of India (44.93s) and Maldives (47.79s).

Sri Lanka’s A. Samaraweera won the high jump title with his best leap of 2.17m. Meanwhile, India’s Rohit (2.15m) and Aadarsh Ram (2.09m) won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
