Diamond League Finals 2024: Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo up against six USA competitiors

Letsile Tebogo has won the last six races he has competed in the men’s 200m.
The Brussels Diamond League Finals 2024 will see the top athletes of the season compete for the ultimate trophy. The 15th and final leg of the Diamond League will see Letsile Tebogo hoping to claim yet another crown this season in the men’s 200m event. He has been dominating the event since winning the gold in the Paris Olympics.
Tebogo holds the fastest timing in the 200m of the 2024 season. He clocked 19.46 seconds during his win in Paris. The sprinter from Botswana has won six races in the 200m since July. He last competed during the Grand Prix Lombardia 2024 in Brescia, Italy on September 8. Tebogo clocked 20.66 seconds to finish first in the men’s 200m ahead of American Vernon Norwood who was timed at 20.75 seconds.
At Brussels Diamond League Final 2024, there will be eight athletes competing in the men’s 200m event. There will be six Americans on the track as Tebogo and Alexander Ogando of Dominican Republic will only be the non-American athletes. The men’s 200m finalists will see USA’s Joseph Fahnbulleh being the only one who is yet to clock a sub 20 race.
How many Diamond League 200m titles has Letsile Tebogo won in the 2024 season?
The 200m men’s event has been part of seven Diamond League meetings in the 2024 season. Tebogo leads the winners list with four consecutive wins. He also holds the fastest Diamond League 200m timing of the 2024 season. The 21 year old clocked 19.55 seconds while clinching the Zurich Diamond League 2024 title.

USA’s Kenny Bednarek comes in second with two 200m titles in the Diamond League 2024 season. He secured wins in Doha and Euegene. Bednarek sprinted down the track in 19.67 seconds to claim the top honours in Doha. Ogando took the title in Paris Diamond League 2024 with a timing of 19.98 seconds.
These three athletes have so far clinched Diamond League titles in the men’s 200m during the 2024 season. Tebogo has the odds in his favour and will be on the lookout for Bednarek, Erriyon Knighton and Fred Kerley. Knighton at the age of 20 will be the youngest one in the finals while Kyree King at 30 will be the oldest.
