Indian Grand Prix-1 2025: Updated full schedule, fixtures & live streaming details

Athletes will look to breach the Asian Athletics Championships qualifying mark.
The Indian Grand Prix 1 2025 is scheduled for March 28. It is a one-day event and is to be held at Kengeri, SAI, NSSC, Bengaluru, Karnataka. This event will be crucial for the athletes aiming to qualify for the Asian Athletics Championships by breaching the qualification mark set by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).
Many young and promising athletes and a few big names will participate in this event. Amlan Borgohain, the 200m national record holder, will participate in the 100m and 200m and will be the favourite to win the gold medal in both events. Apart from him, Punjab’s Gurvindervir Singh, who has a personal best time of 10.27 seconds, will be a threat to Amlan in 100m.
The 400m National record holder Muhammed Anas Yahiya has entered the 200m and will give a tough fight to Amlan for the title.
In the Men’s 800m, the 2023 Asian Championships silver medalist Krishan Kumar and the 2022 Asian Games Silver medalist Mohammed Afsal will be up against each other. Tejas Shirse will look to better his own National Record in the Men’s 110m hurdles. Olympian Sarvesh Anil Kushare will participate in the high jump competition, aiming to improve his personal best. Meanwhile, national sports champion Adarsh Ram from Tamil Nadu will also participate.
In the men’s long jump, Muhammed Anas Yahiya will be the favourite to win the gold medal. The 29-year-old has a personal best of 8.15m, which he achieved in 2022 but hasn’t repeated it since. There is also a surprise entry as Asian Games bronze medallist in the triple jump Praveen Chithravel will be seen in the long jump category.
He has a personal best of 7.58m and after a good performance at the Indian Open Jumps competition (where he jumped 17.13m in the triple jump) will look to improve his personal best in the long jump as well.
Nithya Gandhe of Telangana will be the favourite to win the women’s 100m. The Paris Olympian and 100m hurdles national record holder Jyothi Yarraji will compete in both 200m and 100m hurdles and will be the overwhelming favourite in both categories. Her major competitor in the 200m will be Nithya Gandhe and Moumita Mondal. In the 100m hurdles, Nithya Ramraj and Moumita Mondal will also challenge Jyothi for the title.
