Sachin Yadav recorded longest men’s javelin throw among Indian athletes in 2025 with a distance of 86.27m.

Since Neeraj Chopra’s gold medal-winning effort in the Tokyo Olympics, the men’s javelin throw event has become popular among sports enthusiasts. The World No. 1 athlete secured a silver medal in the Paris Olympics and also breached the 90m barrier at the Doha Diamond League earlier this year.

Chopra’s success has fueled the fire among other athletes as well, who have been striving to achieve success in the javelin throw events. For the first time, India fielded four athletes at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, which is the maximum limit for any country in a single event.

It all started with the Indian domestic season, where the athletes produced supreme performances and took a step forward in matching the international standards. Let’s take at the list of javelin throwers who managed to cross the 80m barrier in the 2025 season apart from Neeraj Chopra.

#1 Sachin Yadav – 86.27m

Sachin Yadav kicked off his 2025 campaign with a gold medal at the National Games in Dehradun with a throw of 84.39m, which is his finest performance in the events hosted by the Athletics Federation of India this year.

After maintaining consistency with his throws, Yadav represented India at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. He was the finest performer for the country with his sensational throw of 86.27m and finished fourth in the final. He surpassed the likes of Neeraj Chopra, Arshad Nadeem, and Julian Weber.

#2 Rohit Yadav – 83.65m

In his first competition in 2025, Rohit Yadav went past the 80m mark. He finished with a silver medal at the National Games in Dehradun with his throw of 80.47m.

With few events in the sub 80s, Rohit bounced back with an 80.35m throw at the 1st Indian Open World Athletics Bronze Level Continental Tour in Bhubaneswar. Then, he recorded his personal best of 83.65m at the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Chennai.

The World Athletics Championships in Tokyo saw him finish 14th with a throw of 77.81m.

#3 Yash Vir Singh – 82.57m

Yash Vir Singh’s first appearance in 2025 came at the Indian Open Athletics Meetings in Chennai, where he won the gold medal with his throw of 77.49m. Yash continued his stellar show in the Federation Cup, as he clinched a silver medal with his throw of 80.85m.

The Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi saw him record his personal best effort of 82.57m, where he finished fifth. However, the World Athletics Championships saw a dip in his performance, recording his best throw of 77.51m to finish 15th in the event.

Shivam Lohakare also broke Neeraj Chopra’s Services record with his throw of 84.31m at the Inter Services Athletics Championship in September. However, it isn’t a World Athletics recognized event and won’t be part of his records.

With around 65m throws in the next three events, Nehra endured a disappointing run. However, it all changed at the National Open Athletics Championships in Ranchi on September 29. With his throw of 72.03m in the qualification round, he advanced to the final round.
