The Monaco Diamond League 2024 is the ninth meet of the Wanda Diamond League 2024 season scheduled for July 12 at Stade Louis II in Fontvieille in Monaco.

With Faith Kipyegon and Yaroslava Mahuchikh establishing world records in the women’s 1500m and high jump at the eighth Diamond League meeting held in Paris, the anticipation is building up for the Paris Olympics 2024.

This also makes the Monaco Diamond League 2024 another important track and field event before the Paris Olympics as the event will feature multiple Olympic and World Championships medalists.

Like other stops of the Wanda Diamond League, this meet will provide Diamond League points to the athletes competing at the event.

One of the highly anticipated highlights at the Monaco Diamond League will be the showdown among Karsten Warholm, Rai Benjamin, and Alison dos Santos in the men’s 400m hurdles event.

All three of them are strong contenders for medals at the Paris Olympics 2024, having collected gold, silver, and bronze respectively in the same order at the Tokyo Olympics.

The women’s pole vault is also expected to be a thrilling contest with the likes of the 2024 world leader Molly Caudery, reigning Olympic champion Katie Moon, and world champion Nina Kennedy battling for the top position.

The men’s 60m world record holder Grant Holloway will look to continue his impressive form in the 110m hurdles as he faces some promising names like Rasheed Broadbell, Trey Cunningham, and Sasha Zhoya, among others.

Meanwhile, Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Yared Nuguse, and Timothy Cheruiyot are a few prominent names to watch out for in the men’s 1500m.

However, with the absence of world champion Noah Lyles who withdrew from the event, Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo will aim to capitalize on the opportunity and secure a victory in the men’s 200m.

The women’s 400m will see Rhasidat Adeleke, Kendall Ellis, Lieke Klaver, Shamier Little, and Jasmine Jones vying for top honors. While Marie Josée Ta Lou-Smith, Dina Asher-Smith, Julien Alfred, Zoe Hobbs, Aleia Hobbs, and Tamari Davis comprise a star-studded women’s 100m lineup at the Monaco Diamond League.
