The Zurich Diamond League 2024 will have two elite athletes competing in a 100m exhibition. Karsten Warholm and Mondo Duplantis will become rivals on the track and will show off their sprinting abilities at Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich. The Zurich Diamond League 2024 events will begin with women’s pole vault and then will see the 100m exhibition between Warholm and Duplantis. It will be the perfect rivalry for the fans to watch as the idea had first come into picture in 2024.

During the Monaco Diamond League in 2023, both the athletes wanted to test their abilities outside their respective events. Duplantis and Warholm have been engaging in friendly banter ahead of their race as both athletes will want to finish first.

Warholm had set the 400m hurdles world record of 45.94 seconds in 2021 at the National Stadium during Tokyo Olympics 2020. In the 100m, his best timing of 10.49 seconds was recorded in 2017 during Floro Indoor Games. During the games he also clocked 6.75 seconds in the 60m. Fans can expect a solid start from the 400m hurdler.

His rival, Duplantis was timed at 10.57 seconds in the 100m in 2018 which has not been ratified. Meanwhile his timings of 10.69 seconds in 2018 during Lafayette Beaver Club Relays at Los Angeles is official. The Swedish athlete is three years younger than Warholm who is 28 years old. Duplantis set the world record of 6.26m in the pole vault during the Silesia Diamond League 2024 in August.
