This will be the inaugural edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic.

The Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 will take place on Saturday, July 5, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. The event will feature a javelin throw competition, with 12 javelin throwers from around the world competing in the Continental Tour Gold-level or A Category event.

Neeraj Chopra Classic will be the first-ever javelin throw showdown in India, with the country’s best javelin throwers going head to head against the world’s finest. The competition was earlier scheduled to take place on May 24 but had to be pushed to a later date amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack.

Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 is conducted by World No. 1 javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, in association with JSW Sports, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and World Athletics (WA).

Five javelin throwers from India and seven from different nations will be in action in the one-day event. India’s Kishore Kumar Jena and Grenada’s Anderson Peters have been ruled out of the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025 due to ankle injuries. Yash Vir Singh has replaced Kishore, while Poland’s Cyprian Mrzyglod will replace Peters in the star-studded lineup for the competition.
