India’s javelin champion and two-time Olympic medalist, Neeraj Chopra, is all set to take part in the Diamond League Final 2025 in Zurich, which will be held at the Letzigrund Stadium on August 28, Thursday.
This marks his fourth consecutive appearance in the Diamond League Final. Chopra, who secured the Diamond League title in 2022, will be aiming to reclaim the crown after finishing as runner-up in both the 2023 and 2024 finals.
The event is crucial for the Paris Olympics silver medallist as it will provide a good warm-up ahead of his world title defence at the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Tokyo next month.
The 27-year-old secured his spot in the final despite competing in only two of the four DL events. He finished second in the Doha leg with a national record-breaking throw of 90.23m. In Paris, Neeraj topped the podium with an effort of 88.16m.
Neeraj skipped the recently concluded Silesia and Brussels Diamond League legs to manage his workload and conserve energy for the upcoming major events.
