Jyothi Yarraji might get a chance in the repechage round, but it’s unlikely due to her timing.
Indian track athlete Jyothi Yarraji finished 7th in the fourth heat with a timing of 13.16 seconds in the women’s 100m hurdles event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yarraji was in the third lane of the fourth heat as she competed against the likes of top runners such as Jamaica’s Danielle Williams, Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji and Home Hope Laëticia Bapté of France.
Jyothi Yarraji, who qualified for the 2024 Paris Games via rankings, got a slow start in the 100m hurdles race. As soon as Yarraji got the dull start, she got left behind and 12 seconds were quite less for her to catch up to the pace of other runners.
During the sprint, Yoveinny Mota of Venezuela slipped and didn’t complete the race, as she got the 8th spot. Jamaica’s Danielle Williams won the heat with a clocked time of 12.59 seconds. Meanwhile, Ireland’s Sarah Lavin secured the second spot with a time of 12.73 seconds. Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji also qualified for the next round by finishing third with a time of 12.81 seconds.
