5 Neeru Pathak (Women’s 400m)

Neeru Pathak made headlines last year when she set a U18 national record in the women’s 400m event, clocking a time of 52.85 seconds.

As a result, Pathak participated in the South Asian U20 Athletics Championships, where she secured three medals, including two golds. The young Indian athlete clocked a time of 54.50 seconds to clinch a gold medal in the 400m race.

The veteran shot putter Tajinderpal Singh Toor will be one of the key athletes to watch in Grand Prix 3. Toor is having a decent campaign this year, finishing on the podium in all four tournaments. The 30-year-old began 2025 with a gold medal at the National Games with a throw of 19.74m. Then, he emerged as the finest performer at the Indian Open Athletics Meeting after throwing 17.61m.

In the Federation Cup, Tajinderpal Singh Toor came second with a throw of 18.77m. Recently, he won the Indian Open Athletics Meet with a best effort of 19.51m.

3 – KM Chanda (Women’s 800m)

KM Chanda has had a bittersweet campaign in the ongoing season. She won the gold medal at the National Games with a time of 2:00.82 seconds in the 800m event.

Recently, Chanda finished eighth at the FISU World University Games in Bochum, having completed the race with a time of 2:02.00 seconds. The Indian Grand Prix 3 will be a perfect platform for her to showcase her endurance and return to top form.

2 – Yashvir Singh (Men’s Javelin Throw)

Javelin thrower Yashvir Singh has had an impressive 2025. He started by winning the gold medal with a throw of 77.49m at the Indian Open Athletics 2025 meet in Chennai. Soon after, he secured a silver medal with an 80.85m effort at the Senior Athletics Championships 2025 in Kochi.

After a fifth-place finish (82.57m) at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, Yash won the G. Arzumanov Memorial event in Tashkent, with his throw of 78.32m. At the Neeraj Chopra Classic in July, Yashvir Singh finished eighth with a best throw of 77.48m.

The young Indian javelin thrower will look to breach the 80-mark once again as he prepares for the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships, which will serve as the final qualification event for the World Athletics Championships 2025.

1 Vithya Ramraj (Women’s 400m hurdles)

The 2022 Asian Games bronze medalist in 400m hurdles, Vithya Ramraj, is expected to taste success yet again, given her consistency in 2025. She bagged a gold medal at the National Games in Dehradun with a timing of 58.11s, before claiming the top spot at the Indian Open Athletics Meetings in Chennai with a timing of 56.90s.

The Federation Cup saw Vithya Ramraj win the gold medal, clocking a time of 56.04s. In the Indian Grand Prix 2, Ramraj came first with a timing of 57.45s. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old won the silver medal at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, clocking 56.46 seconds.

She also emerged as a gold medalist at the Taiwan Athletics Open with a time of 57.90s. Given her sensational form, Vithya is likely to secure a podium finish at the Indian Grand Prix 3.
