Top 10 players to watch at Rabat Diamond League 2025

The event will be held in Morocco on May 25.
The Rabat Diamond League 2025, also known as the International Mohammed VI d’Athlétisme de Rabat, is scheduled for May 25, Sunday, in Morocco. This is the fourth event of the season’s Wanda Diamond League series, following meets in Xiamen and Shanghai.
The event will be offering Diamond League points across various disciplines including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 3000m, 3000m Steeplechase, High Jump, Javelin Throw, and Pole Vault among others.

#10 Katie Moon (Women’s Pole Vault)

Two-time Olympic medalist, including a gold in Tokyo Olympics, Katie Moon will be competing in her second Diamond League meeting of the season at the Rabat Diamond League. During her appearance in the Doha meet, she recorded a 4.63m mark to finish second, only behind Briton Molly Caudery.
With Caudery also present in the star-studded lineup including Tina Sutej and Alysha Newman, the American pole vaulter is expected to face a tough challenge in Rabat.
#9 Joe Kovacs (Men’s Shot Put)
After earning his third consecutive silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, American shot putter Joe Kovacs is all set to open his season at the Rabat meeting. Last year, with a throw of 22.15m, he achieved the remarkable feat of becoming a three-time Olympic medalist, once again missing out on the top spot to his compatriot Ryan Crouser, who claimed gold with a 22.90m throw.
However, with Crouser absent from the event, Kovacs will enter as the favorite to win the event in Rabat.
#8 Hamish Kerr (Men’s High Jump)

Hamish Kerr will look to redeem himself when he competes at the meeting in Rabat, following his second-place finish and loss to Olympic silver medalist Shelby McEwen at the Doha Diamond League. In Doha, Kerr cleared 2.23m, matching Ryoichi Akamatsu, while McEwen won the meet with a clearance of 2.26m.
#7 Fred Kerley (Men’s 100m, 200m)
After missing out on the Grand Slam Track’s Miami event following arrest, Fred Kerley will be in action at the Rabat Diamond League in the men’s 200m and 100m events. He is set to face a tough competition with the likes of Letsile Tebogo, Courtney Lindsey, and Joseph Fahnbulleh among the contenders in the 200m, while in the 100m, Akani Simbine is set to be one of the biggest threats to Kerley.

#6 Tsige Duguma (Women’s 800m)
The Paris Olympics silver medalist Tsige Duguma has displayed remarkable performances in the 2025 season, including a gold medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships and win at the Doha Diamond League meet. She will be one of the favorites to win the race as she takes the field on Sunday.
#5 Soufiane El Bakkali (Men’s 3000m Steeplechase)

Soufiane El Bakkali will be featuring in his second meet of the season in Rabat, after his opener at the Doha Diamond League. In Doha, the two-time Olympic gold medalist came second with a 8:06.66min run, only behind Ethiopia’s Samuel Firewu, who ran a remarkable 8:05.61.
#4 Beatrice Chebet (Women’s 3000m)
Beatrice Chebet is one of the prominent names set to race at the Rabat Diamond League. Chebet, who claimed victories in the 5000m and 10000m at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will compete in the 3000m event this time in Rabat.
Notably, she also participated in 5000m at the Doha Diamond League, where she won with a time of 14:27.12.
#3 Letsile Tebogo (Men’s 100m, 200m)

The Olympic 200m gold medalist Letsile Tebogo is listed to compete in two events—100m and 200m at the Rabat Diamond League. While he has received mixed results in the 100m races he has competed in, he has won both the 200m races at the Doha Diamond League and Botswana Grand Prix this season.
#2 Akani Simbine (Men’s 100m)
Akani Simbine has been making headlines with his performances this season. After winning his first-ever global medal with a bronze at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in the 60m, he has remained undefeated across the 100m distance this season.
He also played a crucial role in helping his country South Africa bag a historic gold medal in the men’s 4x100m relay at the World Athletics Relays and securing a spot at the World Athletics Championships, later scheduled this year.
#1 Femke Bol (Women’s 400m Hurdles)

Femke Bol will open her 2025 outdoor season at the Rabat Diamond League, after skipping individual indoor events to focus on recovery and her personal life outside the sport. The Dutch athlete has won four consecutive Diamond League titles in the 400m hurdles, which makes her one of the athletes to watch out for on Sunday.
