World Athletics Indoor Championships 2026: Updated full schedule, fixtures, live streaming details

The event will be held in Poland from March 20 to 22.
The World Athletics Indoor Championships 2026 is set to feature 674 athletes from 118 member federations, vying for top honors in Toruń, Poland. Twelve champions from the previous edition, held in Nanjing, China, will return to defend their titles, including Mondo Duplantis, Nicola Olyslagers, Freweyni Hailu and Sarah Mitton.
The event, which is set to feature many more star-studded names, will span three days, from March 20 to March 22. Three 4x400m relay competitions will be held, with the mixed relay final scheduled for Saturday and the men’s and women’s relay events slated for Sunday.
In the men’s 60m sprint event, the 2024 Olympic and 2025 World Championships 100m silver medalist Kishane Thompson will be one of the favourites.
However, he is expected to face a challenge from this year’s USA 60m indoor champion and rising star Jordan Anthony, who also holds the world-leading time in the event this year. Defending champion Jeremiah Azu, Trayvon Bromell and Ackeem Blake are among the others to watch this time.
Another discipline that will draw the attention of track fans is the men’s 3000m, featuring a battle between distance runners Yared Nuguse, Josh Kerr and Cole Hocker.
Meanwhile, in the women’s section, the 60m sprint will be headlined by Olympic 100m champion and Saint Lucian star Julien Alfred, who will face competition from Great Britain’s Amy Hunt and Dina Asher-Smith, the USA’s Jacious Sears, Poland’s Ewa Swoboda and Italy’s Zaynab Dosso.
Additionally, all eyes will be on Keely Hodgkinson, the Paris Olympic 800m gold medallist, who arrives as a leading contender after scripting history with a new world record in the 800m by running a remarkable 1:54.87 in France earlier this year.
One of the field events, the women’s triple jump, will see a star-studded participation with four-time world champion and world record holder Yulimar Rojas taking on Olympic champion Thea Lafond and reigning world indoor and outdoor champion Leyanis Pérez Hernández.
Alongside the previously mentioned athletes, other top competitors at the World Athletics Indoor Championships include Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Anna Hall, Chase Jackson, Molly Caudery, Georgia Hunter Bell, Leonardo Fabbri, Mattia Furlani and Miltiádis Tentóglou.
