Hello and welcome to Khel Now’s live blog for the Shanghai Diamond League 2025. India’s Avinash Sable is set to be in action.

Avinash Sable will be India’s sole representative at the Shanghai Diamond League, scheduled to be held in China on Saturday. Sable, who kickstarted his season last week in Xiamen, will compete in the men’s 3000m steeplechase race.

The Shanghai Diamond League 2025 will be the second leg of the 15-meet series, leading to the final in Zurich in August. A host of Olympic and world champions are set compete at the China Textile City Sports Centre.

It will feature superstar attractions, led by Karsten Warholm (400m hurdles), Mondo Duplantis (pole vault), Letsile Tebogo (100m) and Pedro Pichardo (triple jump). Quincy Hall (400m), Christian Coleman, and Berihu Aregawi will also compete, so overall it will be a very energetic contest.

Sable, who finished 13th in last week’s race in Xiamen, will face stiff competition from Ethiopia’s Samuel Firewu and a strong Kenyan team. He had clocked 8:22.59s in Xiamen and will aim to improve on that timing in Shanghai.
