Over 50 Paris Olympics medal winners will be in action at Silesia Diamond League 2024.
The Silesia Diamond League 2024 is expected to start in a few hours as the top athletes will once again clash for the title. The Kamila Skolimowska Memorial will be the 12th leg of the Wanda Diamond League meet this season.
With multiple meeting records being broken a few days ago at Lausanne , the hopes have been kept high for the Silesia Diamond League 2024. The meet will begin with the men’s shot put as Ryan Crouser will seek to breach the 23m mark for the first time this season. His arch rival and this season’s world leading thrower, Joe Kovacs will be battling for the title.
Olympic champion, Masai Rusell will be back in action in the women’s 100m hurdles event. She will be challenged by Jamaican Ackera Nugent and veteran Kendra Harrison. Meanwhile in the women’s javelin throw, Jo-Ane van Dyk of South Africa will aim to upgrade her Paris silver to gold this time at Silesia.
In the women’s 400m hurdles, Femke Bol will be targeting the meeting record at Silesia Diamond League 2024 just like she did earlier at Lausanne. Viktoriya Tkachuk had set the meeting record of 54.18 seconds three years ago and it is most likely to be beaten this time.

Letsile Tebogo is expected to take the title in the men’s 200m and will be joined by Americans Kenny Bednarek and Erriyon Knighton.
Emmanuel Wanyonyi had equalled the joint second fastest timings of all time in the men’s 800m a few days ago. The 20-year-old is within touching distance of breaking David Rudisha’s record and can create history at the Silesia Diamond League 2024.
The men’s high jump will see the return of Hamish Kerr for the first time since his Olympic victory at Paris. Kerr will be joined by Italian Stefano Sottile who had come painstakingly close to winning the bronze at Paris Olympics 2024. Ukrainian Oleh Doroshchuk and Woo Sang-hyeok are also seeking redemption at Silesia Diamond League 2024.
