Olympic legend Usain Bolt to inspire young athletes and promote sports tourism during his India visit.

Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt is set to visit India this September as part of a special multi-city tour that will include events in Mumbai and New Delhi. The visit, scheduled from September 26 to 28, marks Bolt’s second official appearance in India and is being organised by Indian sports travel and experiences platform DreamSetGo.

The three-day tour is part of ‘Dream Icons,’ DreamSetGo’s new initiative aimed at connecting Indian audiences with global sporting icons. Bolt, an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in both the 100m and 200m sprints, will be the first global athlete to headline the programme.

One of the key highlights of Bolt’s visit will be the Dream Dash, a national sprint competition for school-aged athletes. Selected finalists will have the unique opportunity to compete in front of Bolt during the grand finale of the event.

“India has always shown incredible enthusiasm for sports, and I’m looking forward to meeting young athletes and fans during my time there,” Bolt said in a statement shared by DreamSetGo.

The tour will include a mix of closed-door sessions and public events, including athlete meet-and-greets, interactive fan experiences, panel discussions, and cultural showcases. The initiative aims to promote youth participation in athletics and boost India’s growing sports tourism sector.

India’s sports tourism market, currently valued at over USD 11 billion in 2025, is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the country. Bolt’s visit comes at a time when India is actively positioning itself as a global sports destination, with discussions ongoing around a potential bid for the 2036 Olympic Games.

DreamSetGo co-founder and CEO Monish Shah said, “Usain Bolt’s presence in India is not just about celebrating his legacy, but about inspiring the next generation of Indian athletes. Through Dream Icons, we aim to bring fans closer to their heroes and create unforgettable sporting memories.”

The complete itinerary and venue details for Bolt’s events in Mumbai and Delhi are expected to be announced later this month. Registration for the Dream Dash sprint challenge is already underway across select schools in major Indian cities.

Bolt, widely regarded as the greatest sprinter of all time, retired from professional athletics in 2017. Since then, he has been involved in global ambassadorial roles and youth development initiatives across the world.
