The nationโ€™s best finish came during the 2008 edition of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, where they topped the standings with 17 medals (5 gold, 9 silver, and 3 bronze).

Tajinderpal Singh Toor will lead the Indian contingent in the tournament. He clinched a gold medal at the 11th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tehran with a best throw of 19.72 m and will look to defend his title.

Praveen Chithravel, Moumita Mondal, Tejaswin Shankar and sprinter Manikanta Hoblidhar will be a few other Indian athletes to watch out for.
